It turns out that a few people that I work with also applied but they DID get interviews. A while ago, I was told that I was better qualified and had a better chance of getting the actual job than them, let alone get an interview. How do I NOT get an interview?
Bah. Screw them. Screw them all.
I would be feeling a million times worse if it wasn't for another job vacancy opening up. A level 6 (the next step above me) position in the same job I have now. I guess I would be stupid not to go for it, so I am going for it.
I feel like I've been kicked in the guts. I thought I had an interview at least. Had I been denied after an interview, fine. I could accept that, but I felt I was at least qualified enough to get a blinking interview in the first place. It seems I am destined to remain a programmer all my life. Something I do not feel very good about.
Anyway, negativity aside...
The weekend saw my Mother-in-laws 50th Birthday. It was a lot of fun. Well, I had a lot of fun. I think someone else had fun too. ;)
Indoor cricket is on Wednesday this week, where we will actually play the easy beats. We didn't play them last week because they can only play Wednesdays (see Tuesday Dec 3 post for the game rap).
I'm hoping to organise a Diablo 2 LAN soon... probably during my holidays, the best candidate weekend being the 21st Dec. We've got about 5 players of a max 8 so it should be good.
