Rock band... rocks!
Demo of Rock Band

I am so getting this.

In other news, I find it so frustrating that when I'm trying to lose weight, my scales refuse to work.  They are a digital type, but when you step on them they flash zero until it works out your weight, which then displays.  However, mine flashes zero then displays 'ERR' every single time.  No, I'm not too heavy for them, it does it to Sal (who weighs around 75kgs now)

You're serious? What makes you want Rock Band? I don't get it. I can't believe people could be so willing to shell out money for every single peripheral for this product. I mean, connecting up a mock drum-kit? What a waste of space and money! Oh well, I'm sure for the people who do own it and do have the friends that will come over to play it all the time or whatever, it will be fun. But to me it just seems like they're trying to cash in on the craze.

They own the lot by the looks of things, or at least the rights to the equipment. Its a natural evolution of things, Still i see it being expensive.

I don't doubt it. I'm not going to spend money I shouldn't spend on it, maybe save up for it... But it would be great for those parties. :)

Fair point - still, if that's the case, then they're cashing in on their engine, since RB must use quite a fair chunk of code from Guitar Hero. Not that I can blame them, look at Rockstar, they're champions at that.

It still feels to me like they're trying to squeeze every dollar out of it that they can with expensive peripherals, and when the gimmick's worn off they're laughing all the way to the bank.

Oh, you're exactly right... But while they're making a mint, we're all having fun. :)

I'm a big fan of Guitar Hero 2, as Geoff said, it's the logical step forward.
